HELP! Can anyone ID this snake?? Found in my Garage and want to know what it is.

It does appear to be a Texas Earth Snake.

Black Racers are not a type of Rat Snake and both Racers and Black Rats start out being blotched as babies, then lose their pattern as they age.

It's a colubrid, and all US colubrids are harmless, so--not a threat to kiddies.
