    Well UVB is a very good thing unless you are supplementing calcium with D vitamins, namely D3, I use UVB/UVA bulbs in conjunction with another heat source
    I supplement with calcium as well. UVB is necessary for calcium uptake as well as D3 for Tegu's and humans.

    Keep em hot, Feed em alot. Google is an excellent search engine, and Tegutalk.com is full of people that dedicate their lives and for some livelihoods to these amazing creatures. I have two of my own.

    I cannot stress this enough, the BIGGEST pre-requisite for owning a large lizard / monitor is a sizable disposable income.
