How long should i leave f/t in a tub?

I had this problem on Sunday. Tried to feed him with tongs and he wouldn't take it so I left it in there and sure enough about a half hour later I checked and it was half way down his throat.

There are a few. I think I have 3 animals that will eat FT off of the cage floor, lol.
