A co2 chamber, however (when administered correctly only), will result in a far more painless death. When initially administered at a 30-40% concentration, CO2 is a general anasthetic. After the animal is sedated, the concentration can be increased in order to suffocate the animal.

Thanks for the good info in your response.

seriously though - would it be possible to build a chamber that basically puts the co2 from those paintball gun co2 cartridges into a tank? i dont know how much gas is in one of those

    anyone know?

No co2 catridges would be impracticle to use. You would have to use to many to fill the area up with CO2, Co2 is heavier than o2 .. so the basic design of the gas chamber is to push out the o2.. you would have to pop to many of those to push the 02 out. Also, it is just wastefull.
It is better to be able to control the flow of the co2 entering the chamber as to put the animal to sleep slowly, it puts the animal in a anesthetic state. .. If you just flood the chamber with Co2 the animal has a much more stress full death. (this is why baking soda and dry ice are frowned upon due to it is harder to control the flow of co2... ).

Buy a 12 or 20 oz co2 tank from walmart or go to your welding supply store and rent a co2 tank.. alot cheaper, alot more control = a much more humane death for your feeder animal.

This would be enough, and it straps easier to your back for paintballing :)
