Some really interesting comments. I think it's pretty funny Maixx that your normal will only eat white female mice (I've heard of this before too) and that some will only eat in a dark room. It's crazy that we even figure these things out.

My spider female is my most enthusiastic eater. She'll strike at anything warm when she smells rat. My lesser and mojave males and my het albino female are good eaters too. My albino male is sometimes picky and I have a normal female who will eat rats for a month then up and decide she only wants mice. Grrr!!

your going to find after everyone goes back and forth about how "X" is a bad eater and someone elses "X" is a good eater, the answer is no, the skin color does not affect their eating.

It's not really something that can be linked to a particular morph. My spiders and spider morphs eat like champs. Everyone has different opinions as to which morphs are picker.

Rumor has always been that Spiders will eat you out of house and home and Pieds are very picky. Of course, we've all seen exceptions to both. The genetics don't have anything to do with it. It's all about the individual animal.

My male Fire has been nothing but a PITA feeder since day one.

It's been almost a month now and he looks 'deflated' even though technically, he's not lost much weight.

The herp guy wants me to bring him for an assist feeding.

I'm not real keen on that but I'm worried the snake is going to die if he doesn't eat soon.

From 12/10/11 to now, my little 8/11 Spider male has gained 600 grams...and he's on a perfectly normal feeding schedule.

At the rate he's going, I suspect that one day he'll be as big as my Boas.

From the end of September until now, my PetCo mutt girl has gone from 134 grams to almost 700.

    She's a little piglet.

    :)

I read somewhere that Fires are problem eaters.
    Mine sure is.

My 2 100% het Clown girls do the "switch" thing, too.
    Right now, it's rats.
Next week, it'll possibly be mice or not eat anything at all.

    They're weird.

How long has it been since he's eaten? How much does he weigh?
