Pinky mice or pinky rats? Pinky mice are too small for all but the smallest of hatchlings.

You should strive to feed her 10-15% of her body weight with each feeding, which for a young snake should be every 5 days or so.

If you don't have a scale you should consider picking one up. They are worth their weight in gold when it comes to BP husbandry.

Lol so a rat fuzzy would probably be best then? They are rat pinkies and it pretty much the same size as her widest point. Shes young and her middle is probably only about an inch and a half round, maybe 2.

Sounds like a rat fuzzy would work just fine.

Im not worried about having a light on at night. Just was told red and blue didnt make a difference. Thanks for letting me know. Even most websites Ive checked have said red blue or black. This is good info. :) If I hadnt gotten worried about her eyes I would have never known.

I would avoid black lights. Those things get crazy hot and can burst, showering hot glass all over the place.

Thanks Slim, will admit the pinkies didnt seem very big to me. Think giving her another after 2 days would be fine or just wait the 4 and give her a fuzzy?

Btw, going to pick up a scale soon, how much should she weigh if shes between 10 and 12 inches long (cant get her to stretch out enough to really tell).

I would just wait the 4 days. No time like the present to get her on a regular feeding schedule.

As for weight, there is no real formula for what they should weigh at a given length or age. They all gain differently. As long as she looks healthy and not skinny to your eye, she's probably fine. Once you switch her over to rat fuzzies, you should see a fairly rapid increase in her growth...along with a corresponding increase in her pooping and shedding.
