Agressive at feeding time

    So I really have no reason that I need to feed him in the separate tub, sure would be easier on me to do it in his tank. Guess I was just told to do that in the beginning and it made sense so I never thought twice about it.

    For those that do feed in the same enclosure, do you take the stuff out? For instance I have 2 rock hides, a water bowl, and a big log/branch type thing. Like I said, he goes nuts, lunges and wraps that thing up, does a heck of a job killing it. He's usually all over the tub.

    I am somewhat concerned about him swallowing the aspen bedding causing problems, but then again, its not like these guys have a nice pristinely clean floor to eat on in the wild. And the rumor here is it's a largely discussed topic in this forum so I guess I'll go search that out.

    You can always fix your cage furniture after the feeding is over. Lots of folks feed on aspen substrate, and I can't remember the last time anyone posted about a problem with ingestion of it. I don't think a piece here or there is going to bother an animal that can digest rat bones.
