    Re: Herpstat 1 temp fluctuations
    Just wanted to update this.

Received this email this afternoon from them,
    --------------------------
Tested for two days at full wattage (500 watts) with no failures. Going to continue testing it but replacing it with new model Herpstat 1 Basic so you don't
have to wait. Let me know how you like the new model. :^)

    --------------------------

Really awesome of them to do that, I don't know many companies that would.

My Herpstat 1 is set for 87.5 but it will not go over 79.5 and the power is at 100%. Any ideas on what I should do? Would appreciate a response quick because I have four ball pythons at 80 degrees right now.

I just raised it to 89.0 and it is "stuck" on 78.2 at 100% power. It doesn't make any sense to me.

I did a master reset and it is stuck at 77.9 at 100% power.

try getting the temp in the room up, (space heater or turn thermostat on house up)

    just what i would do.

what temp is the room? is this tub or tank or cage?

what kind of heater do you have?

Found the problem. Girlfriend mentioned to check the connectors on the heat tape to the cord and one of them was sparking. Guess it was loose.
