Hey guys, thanks for all the advice! Amazon.com seems to have good prices compared to local pet stores. We decided to return the ReptiBark and go with the Eco Earth, great prices on that!

We got terracotta drip trays for hides, I think we're going to dremmel out an entrance. Anyone have advice for a better way to do that? We're really going for aesthetics in the tank as this will (probably!) be our only snake.

We also have a digital indoor/outdoor thermometer, which will measure the ambient temperature, and a probe for the floor temperature. Would you recommend taping this to the inside of the tank?

So glad this resource is available, it's great to be able to ask people with experience what to do.

One last question, what do you use for heat lamps? I think the room the tank will be in is cool enough to necessitate one during the day. What wattage? I will double check the care sheets.

So excited for her arrival! =)

Okay, so obviously tape is not a good idea! My bad. Guess I will have to be creative about attaching it.

I use hot glue, just don't cover the probe itself.

For heat lamps I would recommend using this bulb in either the 50 or 75 watt version (depends on how cold your room gets.

As long as you are using a 100 watt bulb or less you can use this fixture

The drip trays might be a little short (but it really depends on their size I guess) a dremmel Is your best bet to cut a hole in it, just make sure that there are no sharp edges (I would sand the edges of the hole)
