Thank you all for your input. He's on his way to get natural chemestry. We've decided to treat everyone as we brought home a total of 7 new babies from 5 different breeders. Gonna treat their racks as well. Heck. We may make a habit of treating every noobie when we Bring them home. Want to make sure everyone stays happy and healthy.

is it safe to leave the chem soaked towel in there like that? i dont want to harm tha babies. but i guess it would also help clear any new comers that decide to jump in?

I use RAID bedding spray, same active agent as PAM at the same dosage and its only $4 and can be found at walmart, Remove the water from the Cage and the Snake, and spray down everything in the tank and let it set for a few hours. While doing this Soak the Snake in warm water with just a dash of dish soap. After a few hours put the snake back in the cage but wait 24 hours before putting a water dish back in it. mites are gone usually wit 24 hours, I don't even replace the bedding, and have used this with success numerous times with new Snakes

Not soaked but misted and yes its safe. You can even spray and wipe down your snake with the Natural Chemistry.

Wow, I have never heard of using frontline on a snake. Think I would be leary. Also, someone posted they saw "white" mites on their snake? I thought they were black? :confused: Also, to op, you should always have a quarantine procedure with new snakes. There is a sticky thread on quarantine if you have any questions. Also, like everyone else is saying, prevent a mite works great, and soaking with A drop of dawn dish soap.

I think this product was discontinued. It is no longer listed on the web site, Permethrin is linked to some serious health issues I would not be surprised to find it had been pulled for these reasons.

thats what hubby did yesterday. sprayed paper towel & ran snakes thru it a few times. i think we shall try the idea where we mist the paper towels and leave them in. thats what is so appealing about the nat. chem. its specifically PH balanced and sounds to be gentle and effective.

That is what my reptile vet said to use and it works for 30 days. you have to mix the spray 50/50 then apply to snake via cotton ball. It is the frontline spray, not the tiny tube you use on dogs and cats.
