I checked out iherp.com. Looks promising. Not sure how well it will scale to larger numbers of snakes. I think the biggest issue might be to much information on the Dashboard and no way to customize what is displayed. I will definitely give it a try so thanks for the suggestion.
It would also be really cool if there was a smart phone app (Android preferably) to go with this so I could easily add records while out in the snake room.
I wonder what the big breeders do with hundreds and thousands of snakes to keep track of?

Can Vyper software still be purchased? Last time I looked all I found was a notice on the old web page that a company in California had bought it.

I keep track of breedings ( pairings, ovulations, sheds, etc. ) and hatchlings when the eat and shed.
I do all this on colored index cards. So old school....

This is where the Filemaker Pro software I use comes in. I can use a bar code scanner, make batch entries (say all my snakes ate 1 small rat, all I do is hit apply all, and move on) everything is 100% customizable and there is a smartphone app ( I know for sure there is an iPhone app as I use it... never looked for an android one though)

Don't know, I've been using it a couple years. I'd heard it wasn't available right now, but hopefully the new folks didn't just buy it with the intent to never market it again. That'd be a shame. I switched to Vyper from Degei, and would rather not go back, although it'd be nice to be able to use a barcode system and scanner.

I use a spreadsheet as well, but all of mine (19 total) are on one sheet. I record feeding, shedding, weights, birthdays, when bought and from whom, as well as any misc. info.

I also have one for my rats and frozen rat inventory.

I use a whiteboard while I'm in the reptile room and immediately record into iherp as soon as I'm done. I record sheds, feedings, weights and breeding activities. I'm pretty OCD about my records. My records are always up to date. From experience I've learned that if I don't input as soon as I'm finished then I won't input. Occasionally if I'm in the reptile room for an exceptionally long length of time I'll bring in my laptop and input straight into iherp. The only thing I record on spreadsheets are my planned breedings and potential outcomes.

    Regards,

    B
