    Dunno how active that member is anymore since they've only posted two posts but I think they may do it that way because they think the snake will associate opening the enclosure with feeding time and they may be afraid the snake will become aggressive.

    There is nothing wrong with feeding inside the enclosure: all my snakes (even my Cali king) have never became cage aggressive and I feed everyone inside their enclosure. Even if they think it's food time I can still open up their tubs and grab them without thinking my hand/fingers are food.
