I have used NPI cages for many years. Still have all the original ones I bought in 1999. Never had any problems with these. I use flexwatt heat tape but and only use about 16" under the 36 inch long cage. Only needs to heat one end (1/3).
I have not used these for ball pythons but had great success with many other species.
