    Pretty much. I just put an X on the top of each egg to which way is up in the event that they're jostled around while taking them from mom (which rarely happens).

    um i still dont quite understand all of the tecincal mumbo-jumbo u just said but basicly

    a dud is an egg that didnt develop what so every like the chicken eggs we eat all the time

    and a slug is a baby snake that didnt develop properly and i take it that they are usually not alive?

    Before an egg is an egg, it is an ova (follicle). Slugs are ovum that were not mature enough to be fertilized when the snake ovulated. They usually come out as small, yellow/orange/brownish egg-shaped lumps. Duds are fully shelled eggs that are simply infertile (i.e. no veins when candled).
