Great snakes, love the watermark.
Thank you very much! I love the pics with his mom too! I can't believe how much his orange pops next to her!

Thank you! I would have to agree with you!

I would however add copyright notices and Usage terms and your contact info embedded into the file (which is void of all of this currently)
The other security method is low rez small files never place any file on line that is usable for anything other than on line.
I routinely have files reposted somewhere the last one was at christmas from here. reposted on Facebook complete fluke I found it. I tagged myself on the file and left it alone. No harm no foul I take it as a compliment. If you try to pass it off as your own file or in your case as your own snake and the usage terms are broken you are going to pay for it. I charge 2500$ per image for infringement quite fair when you look at copyright violations I have 5 or 6 times asked for this and got it out of court with little fight it was pointed out that the file still has my metadata and terms on it the violation is clear and well...
My opinion.
I understand where you are coming from, but I'm not terribly worried about my pictures. As long as no one tried to claim my snake was theirs and they give me credit for the picture/snake, I'm not bothered by it. But I won't put the watermark off to the side, my background is pure white, and will always be that way most likely, that's my style. All someone would have to do is come in with a white "pencil" and color over my watermark. It might be easy to steal my pictures as they stand, but I'm not going to hand them over. Plus, I really don't think it takes away from the snake, I manually place it on the picture so I can move it to a spot that doesn't matter as much. The difference between my watermark and yours is to ensure that people know the snake is mine, I really don't care about the picture as a whole.

Thank you very much! He is growing, and I am so happy he looks just about as good as the day he hatched. I know you have been routing for him from the beginning! :D
