I use the large size for my adult female ball and she weighs in at 1900grams. She is about 3 years old. The hide is perfect for her - big enough for her to position herself any way she wants, but snug enough that she feels secure.

They are, however, big enough that I wouldn't recommend "growing" a baby into the large. They are large. The medium is acceptable for this purpose - then graduate the snake to the large when it outgrows the medium. :gj:

The small is perfect for my 150g girl. She's a slow grower, so I'm getting good use out of it. They will likely be bleached and handed down to my leopard gecko when she outgrows them. I have my 500g-ish snakes in the mediums, but they honestly look like they'll grow out of it in a couple hundred grams. Unfortunately, anything bigger than a medium and I'll have to go down to one hide per tub (the Boot boxes from container store).

I do looove these hides though. They're ridiculously easy to clean, and the snakes seem to love them.

I use the small in my shoebox tubs for 200-500 gram BPs. By then it's a tight fit and time to move them to a bigger tub anyway.

Medium goes in the 32qt tubs for juvie BPs to adult males.

I don't use large at all. My big girls are often stretched out more than they are coiled or hiding. It's pointless and more to clean.

Hatchling racks don't get hides at all because they are simply too small for a hide.
