I have about 20 lbs to lose! It's not really a numbers thing, I just want to fit comfortably in my size 6 pants and I'd like my boobs to go back down to a normal D cup rather than this awful in-between size I'm dealing with right now.
Between a fast-food crazy roommate and a boyfriend that spoils me, I packed it on over about 2 years. I've hit a bit of a wall, as I have pretty bad knee problems. Hopefully, I'll find an exercise regimen that doesn't leave me with red swollen knees. I'd like to try pilates, I just haven't figured out how to do it on a budget. XD Not living with my old roommate and her bad habits will probably help too.

I'm 6'2" 205, but I want to get back to 185. I've started.

A missconception about loosing weight is even if you drop 1# doesnt mean you actually lost 1# of body FAT. It could be muscle weight, water weight, fat weight or a bit of all of the above and others. Drink a glass of water and you will weigh more, but its not real weight.
Eating right is the best thing you can do for your body/health. Cut out processed foods and drink plenty of water and your body will adjust itself to its ideal weight. (I am not an advocate of drinking 1oz of water per 1# of body weight, drink when your thursty)
Weight numbers are also a lie.

I am a true believer in paleo/primal. It has worked for me and my wife. But I must warn you, if you want to look into paleo or primal you must forget everything you have been told about health and nutrition.

my body fat percentage is 32% and the ideal healthy percentage is between 21%-33% its not fair lol some people like my boyfriend dont even have to exercise his body fat percentage is 14% and the ideal for him is 8%-20%

Re: anyone else trying to lose weight
One of the biggest things to losing weight is watching your calorie intake, everybody has a "maintenance" amount of calorie intake (the amount of calories to maintain current weight) so simply put, eat about your mainanence level of calories or slightly lower and do cardio (running, biking, ect, as well as weight training if your like for a little extra tone) and you will see weight loss. In about 2 weeks i lost +/- 4Lbs because I ate about 200 calories less then my maintenance and did a decent amount of cardio and weight lifting. Proper diet plays a big factor to weight loss, just because you eat a salad doesnt mean its healthy. (most people, I used to do it myself) use wayyyyy to much dressing, the serving size of most dressings is 2 tablespoons. (there are other examples as well)
Along with my diet I too have cut soda completely out and way back on alcohol. it helps, thats for sure :P

- This is veeeerrrryyyyy true. I spend just as much time on www.bodybuilding.com (they have a good forum section as well :)) as I do this website.
Also, www.myfitnesspal.com is a great website (and smart phone app) that allows you to log your food intake and help you count your calories and such (you can set it up for your goals as well and it changes your allowed calories, I.E. 1 pound loss 2 pound loss, and even gains.)
Good luck on your weight loss, remember, weight is just a number, and it shouldnt be the staple of your goals, desired results should be! :D
EDIT: Another thing I forgot to mention, something that helps me TONS is I make my daytime meals the night before (i prefer 5 smaller sized over 3 larger) that way I can take time to put the appropriate stuff in. That way im not rushing in the morning and grabbing whats easier/pre-made (the junk food)

Re: anyone else trying to lose weight
I'm trying to lose weight big time. I've recently lost over 100lbs and am currently at a stand still. Even PT isn't helping :(. I still have about 20-30lbs I want/need to lose. I've tried doing different work outs. Those last few lbs are being stubborn haha.
I'm considering checking if there are any decent pills to help me burn more during my workout. I just hate taking pills and stuff.
I gained a lot of weight after a car accident a few years ago that left me unable to walk for almost a year. I'm almost as good as new now, and am able to once again rock climb and mountaineer which has helped me lose most of the weight. Not drinking soda also helped immensely. I only drink water now. However, I still have a pop every now and then. Pretty much only when I go out to eat.
I know I'll never be 116 again, but I'd like to be at a healthier range. Aiming for 120-130. I'm rather short, so that is a healthy weight for me. ;)
