    Why not put the rats in a plastic bag and set that in the water, the rat thaws the same and nothing much to dry....

    The bags leak. If they don't leak, they float, and take forever to thaw. Trust me. lol...

    They are always thawed before hand, I just use the water to heat them up! I feed them wet...but was just letting it drip off so it didn't drip onto my floor!

    I wasn't meaning to make a controversy over the best way to thaw rodents...I just thought it was a funny story!

    :) I know what you mean. My boa has quite the feeding response as well. A few days ago I held up a rat which she instantly snatched up. Didn't even give me a chance to do a zombie dance. So I closed the tub. I cleaned up the rat-warming-up station and came back to check on her a few minutes later to quite a surprise...

    She was both eating the rat and SHEDDING at the same time. No I don't mean in blue, I mean her shed skin was half way off her body.

    What a snake. It was a perfect shed and she ate like a charm. I love boas!
