Could really be just a curious ball, as not all are content to just lay around doing nothing. I've observed a few of my snakes' night time behavior, and they vary widely.

My youngin (~3 months) is going wild at night climbing the branch and suction cupped plants to the vent holes. His young, poorly coordinated body flops around waking me up. He hasn't eaten in a few weeks (refused first meal) so I assume that is the issue. Watched him flop himself right into his water bowl last night after leaning a little too far off his branch.

    Update
Last night, I watched her to check for nose rubbing, and she crept up to the tank's screen on top but did not rub her nose. She flicked her tongue at it and turned away. Her nose is looking better.

Way back when I was younger I had water snakes, corn snakes, kings and milks under my care, but the BP is a fun and new experience. I followed the advice of the other users, and offered a freshly killed rat pup..and holy cow. She ate that without a problem (so far). I'm just not used to such a short fat snake. Hopefully a full belly and an understanding of the limits of the cage will help keep the nose rubbing down.

Also as a side note, when I mentioned she had eaten large mice, they were ex-breeder mice, not the 'large mouse' you get at a big box store, so they were pretty hefty. The pet store owner (one of the rare ones that actually knows something) told me a 'large mouse' from a big box store really isn't that big. The pet store owner manages one of the mouse and rat farms down here in FL and sells his ex-breeder mice as large mice.

Thanks for all of the help everybody.
