Kirby's aren't that bad, the only flaw is they use bags.. and the bags costed us almost $50 for i think six? granted we got the vacuum about 10 years ago and it lasted up I'd say 7? I've never had a dyson so I can't comment on that, but Kirby's are good. I just won't pay $2,500 plus for a vacuum out of MY pocket.

Will a Dyson survive sucking up a penny or something like that? That seems to be what always kills our vacuums...suck up some little piece of metal and the plastic fan gets broken and then it's all down hill from there...

If a broken belt is the only complaint, I may need to go shopping for a Dyson...

I cannot believe the crap that was in my "clean" carpet that the Dyson got. The only downside so far is the fact that the canister is very small, and at least in my zoo of a house, it needs to be emptied more often.

However, the fact that it pulls at least 20 times the stuff out of my carpet than ANY other vacuum I have owned, more than makes up for that.

X3 We have the Dyson animal for over 7 years now and never had a problem with it Love the thing and we had to empty the canister several times the first tie we used in in the living room :)
