Lookin good so far! I've always wanted to try saltwater, but i'm too much of a scaredy-cat. I only know freshwater. Anyway......you should consider putting your heater in your sump tank. Gives the tank a cleaner look IMO.

Yeah we still need to move it. It might be too big for our sump tank though :( it might be going in the corner with the pipes as long as it keeps the temp stable.

It should....there is plenty of water flow inside of the overflows.

Just a quick update, our tank is getting dirty and our ammonia is finally going down! I'm so excited to see the tank cycling progress!

And Lenny is still alive, don't ask me how. He has been swimming around having a hay day with all the algae that is growing in the tank.

I would recommend captivereefs.com! We are like family over there, they got the know how and nicer people than the big sites!

An update on the tank. We got some more rocks and a few fish in the tank, they are a hardier fish and the guy from the saltwater store says if our Blenny is alive and well we can try some other fish. Our levels are just about perfect and have been for about a week, I'm so excited to see the tank coming along! Oh, and we got the damsels out and traded them in, that was hard work catching them! They would not leave our peppermint shrimp alone and one of the damsels had a really bad cut on his face, either from the shrimp or an emerald crab. I figured since everyone said to get rid of those from the start we might as well get rid of them since they wouldn't leave the shrimp alone.

We have about 70lbs of live rock in the tank now, about 20 more pounds to go!

I'm so envious. I just started fishkeeping with freshwater, but when I get into this more, I will eventually get into saltwater.

If you noticed our tank is really dirty, we had a skimmer mishap...it ended up dumping all the crap that was collected for one week back into the tank in one day. It was user error, but everything is about back to normal level wise.
