If your husbandry(temps, humidity and hides) is correct then I would not worry about it! If they stop feeding for no reason then I would not worry until about 6 months has pasted! Ball pythons are known for this and they will drive you crazy if you worry about it too much! Just feed during your scheduled feeding day and not worry about it!

At that age and weight, and her still being in quarantine, I would think 'parasites' first, and have a fecal exam done by a vet to check. (Obviously, don't take any animal out of quarantine if it's not behaving perfectly).

had the same issue with our normal adult female. wouldnt eat ANY version of any size rat we offered for the 1st 3 or 4 weeks we had her home. we offered her live mice in tongs AFTER DARK and she took them like a champ! have had 3 successful feedings in a row now. we didnt have scales yet but you could tell she was losing weight from not eating and thats what scared me. she is now back on track. the 3 things i hear consistantly about a BP going off feed is feed live, feed smaller than normal prey and feed after dark. weve been feeding around 8:30ish p.m. best of luck!

I had a similar with my female 700 gram normal. She stopped eating normally when I switched her to rats from mice. Eventually every Sunday I would offer her a small rat and leave it for 20 minutes. If she didn't eat it I would just take it out and try next week. After about 4-5 weeks she finally took one because I assume she was really hungry. After that she has been slamming them every 6-7 days with no hesitation.

Your snake will eat when its ready as long as its not sick and has a proper set up.

Thanks for all the aswers and suggestions!

I think I'm just going to wait a couple of weeks. Haven't she fed by then, I might try a live rat.

I've had a snake go 10 months without eating and be just fine. Just watch the weight. If they lose weight rapidly there could be an illness/parasite. Otherwise, just offer food occassonally until they start again.

She finally ate now, after about 6 weeks without food. Guess she wasn't in the mood for eating until now. Thanks for all the advice and suggestions in the thread.
