If we go in together, we can take the drive together, split the cost for gas, and I can haul the trailer, or, if your vehicle gets better gas, you can. Whichever is cheaper.

    That way, we both benefit!

That's what I try to tell people to do... Get together and save some money... I buy a ton a month, and even at wholesale, I still get discounts for buying in bulk. I have a few other friends that breed as well, and we order together, and save with multiple orders...

Thanks for pointing this out. I just cancelled my next order too. I'm not paying the same price as Mazuri 6F for 20% less food.

Yep, cancelled my autoship. At least I got a great deal right before it stopped.

If anyone finds a similar deal... let us know.

I think the 143 price was crossed out and it said the new price in red as the sale price.

Did you hear back at all?

Indeed - the original price has ALWAYS been crossed out, with the sale price next to it. It even said on sale.

    Crap.
Well, I'm glad I just got my shipment in at the old price.
Anyone know of any good places in southern California??

The price of $21 was always listed as a sales price. And the bag price went from $21 sale to $28 which is not doubled in price, it's $8 more.

The aspen price has gone from $10.89 to $18.09!!! So that's almost a doubled in price.

I just called and talked to them and told the lady there wasn't any way that I could justify paying $18 a bag for aspen when I can get better aspen shred locally at Tractor Supply for the same price(it's $10 per 2.2cf bag, while the NPP is $18+ for 4cf).

In the end, I really like the Harlan/Native Earth food so Is witched it to 2 bags every other month to keep free shipping via autoship. I did tell the woman that I would be putting some rats on the local food to see if I can tell any difference. If I cannot see some difference in rat production or growth, I will cancel the order completely. She tried to say the Harlan was way better, but I pointed out the locally available food was over $10 cheaper for a larger bag and had the exact same ingrediants.

I was polite and nice throughout the call and both folks I talked to(two sections, one ordering one autoship)were very nice and tried to be helpful. But I was clear that the higher prices meant I would most likely not be ordering from them. I imagine that if enough people don't buy, they'll try another sale(maybe not as low, but sale price some). If they put it on sale low enough, I'll buy from them. If they keep the curent non-sale prices, I'll probably buy locally.

Buying local means I don't have to store loads of aspen or food too. I don't have to unload 300 lbs of rat supplies all on one day either AND it gives me a valid excuse to go to Tractor Supply more often. Win Win Win.

I'm waiting for a call from the customer service manager. She thinks it's a mistake.

I think we should wait to hear what she says before putting in, changing or canceling any orders.

I'll post as soon as I get the call.

    Hang tight.
