quick update, i got another UTH, this one covers half of the tub. and i stuck the other one on the top of the tub, hooked to the same reostat.

i havent insulated anything, and with this change, (so far... still have to let it test for 12-24 more hours) im sitting at 93F base layer substrate on half the tank with the top layer at 90F, and the ambient temp on the other side at 78F. with 61% humidity(outside room temp is 70F, and 37% humidity)

so, thats a lot closer to the target than before, ill play around with wrapping towels on it to see if i can tweak it the rest of the way.

SO, dont throw away your old UTH, might be able to use it like i am. ill post the results after 12, and 24 hours of running like this.

temps have stayed the same now with no variation whatsoever for a number of hours. humidty went up to 65% so i will probably move the water dish closer to the cold side to try and get it closer to 50%

not bad for 20 watts of power consumption, and a constant humidity, vs 150watts of power to a heat lamp, where i had to spray the enclosure 3 times a day just to keep the humidity above 30%, while having the same temps =)

anyways, that solved my problem. and if your willing to use 2 UTH's the way i did, im sure it will work well for you as well.

Thanks for the update! I was going to hold off on getting my BP until I could build an enclosure but found a spider that I really want (if the breeder will text me back) so now I can use both UTH's and get my snake!!!
