Yeah I also have only dealt with one big breeder. Dan and Collette Southerland from TSK. Lucky for me I live just a few min from them. They are some of the nicest people I have met. They are willing to help with any questions and have shown me a lot about ball pythons. They have even been nice enough to show me some of their top morphs and wow are they amazing. I also can get my feeder rats from them for way cheaper than anywhere else. They are the best.

The majority of the snakes and reptiles I have purchased have been through local breeders. I prefer to do to face to face business when possible. I ventured out this year and purchased a couple of snakes from Evan Stahl, I'll post a review when I receive them. So far he has been great to deal with over the phone. Many years ago after going to the Daytona show I purchased a pair of het pieds from Chesapeake Bay Ball Pythons. The shipping was very professional as well.

Maybe sometime I will find a snake I have to have from one of the big breeders but I have found looking at the snake in person has always been more pleasurable and I'm always able to get a better price. In return I have built local connections with other breeders, I feel like that will help me in the long run.

I dont buy based on who the breeder is, I based on the quality of the animal. I always do research on who I am buying from if I cant meet them to check the animal out. So therefor I cant rank any of them.

I'm not going to go out there and rank them as it really depends on what they have although I would put NERD #1 just because overall I think they have more mind blowing ball pythons than anyone else. But the big breeders I've bought from are NERD, Mike Wilbanks and VPI and I had good experience with all of them. But I've also had good experience with breeders most of you may not have even heard of. I just buy from whoever has the animal I'm looking for. I am a bit partial to VPI as they are fellow Texans and Tracy Barker is phenomenal to work with. Will be seeing her today at an expo as a matter of fact :D

I wouldn't rank NERD as #1 just because they have the high dollar morphs. That isn't really fair.

I guess I didn't really think about this, but a lot of breeders here are great as well.

Personally, I have two snakes from Deborah Stewart and they are exceptional :)

I have bought reptiles from several different breeders. All of them have sent me amazing stuff.

    Retics : Baldogo reptiles.
Carpets and Boas : Exceptional Exotics ( Steve Hammond )
Burmese , Carpets, Balls, Leopard Geckos, Corns and Water Dragons : Risher Reptiles
Borneo Pythons : ......as far as these go, the nicest ones that I have EVER seen come from Buddy Nester ( OUTLAW ):gj:, Mr. Tim Mead :gj:, Bob Clark.:gj:
Ornate and Blackthroat Monitors: Rob Faust
    P.E. : Argus Monitors

    Just my 2 cents worth.

    How do you rank someone?

Is it based on the size of their collection

Is it based on the specific designer morphs they have

    Animal quality

    Customer service

    Other.

I really hate ranking people I have purchased from many breeders from small to large and I can tell you that the little guys do a great job too and are often overlooked.
