Ive had the same thing happen to my little girl multiple times XDD she was too lazy to rework it in her mouth all the way to the head so she just took it backwards. Its never caused a problem it just takes her a little longer to east when that happens. Next time Id just let the little guy finish. It may just be due to lack of experience eating. the more he does it the better he'll get

I fed him again yesterday and he took it with no problems. Glad I didn't freak him out too much when I pulled the tail out on the last one. Seems like he's going to be ok with f/t instead of live. Thanks for the good info everyone & I'll be staying out of it in the future. Frontwards, backwards, or sideways, I'll let the animal figure it out. :)

Have you ever seen the video of the rock python eating a gazelle head first rack and all? They will be fine. If not they will spit it out and figure it out.

my bp always used to try to do that, he even tried to eat himself a couple times lol. i also had a knigsnake that would eat his while they were still alive, he wouldnt coil it or anything, just grab it by the face and start munching:lmao:
