Alright as far as quarentine he is in his own home. 10 gallon, UTH, 2 hides, heat lamp and water dish. Took some pictures belly is clear eyes are a very dark greenish marble color. Im not sure from the pic if you can tell but here you go. Also called woman I got him from and now she breeds them! She has over 14 breeding pairs of bp's. She did say he was sexed and is a male. She seamed like she knew what she was talking about but im still learning so it could have all been BS. For now though we are going to give him a boy name. Is that ok keeping a boy girl in the same house if we arent breeding? thanks!

Never keep two ball pythons in the same enclosure, regardless of whether they are boy/girl or not. It's just bad husbandry. I'm surprised a breeder let a snake like him go for $50, but I got my leopard for a crazy price too. Congrats! :gj:

Yes they can be in the same house.
QT really needs to be enforced but as stated earlier, you screwed that pooch already.
you never want to cross contaminate any new to old snakes for at least 90 days.

Im sorry when I said in the same home I ment our house. The 2 snakes have only been close together in that first photo I took. Since they have been in their 2 own tanks about 10 feet away from each other.

P.S Only spent $25 for him not $50.

This is not adequate quarantine. Same house is fine, but seperate rooms and disinfection MUST be strictly adhered to. Even taking that first photo of them together is all it took to blow quarantine. BUT its water under the bridge now. You need to watch both snakes carefully for the next 60 days at least. And keep in mind that your old snake could contract something from the new one and the new one may never show any symptoms at all. Just watch them both.

So she breeds all these balls yet she can't tell that this one is a pastel (as in taking the $25 lowball offer when I would assume she would know that she could have gotten at least $60-$75 for him somewhere)? Hmmm...

Regardless, he is a nice little guy and IMO defiantly a pastel. Great find for $25!
