    No both hides are different, but both are good hides. Yes i will move him onto the appropriate sized rate this Friday. Thanks for all the help guys I appreciate it.

    The reason I ask is I have heard some BP's will prefer one hide to over another so they might not Thermo regulate sometime. Just a thought

    A ball python will do whatever it wants just like any other living creature. As long as your ambient temps are 89 degrees youll be fine even if the animal wants to hang in his water dish. Keep in mind these animals live in africa and live in the wild under less then ideal temps. Look at florida. You got pythons surviving in the glades where there is so much flucuation in temps. They even survive through florida winters so im sure having one living in 89 degrees in a cage is fine. Dont overthink it your doin fine with him

    mabe your right with only 89 degrees ambient but ideally you want 90-94 hotspot/ warm side and 80- 83 cool side with 81-85 ambient
