Most of my animals (mammals and reptiles) have been drinking tap water for years with no problems.

sometimes too much thinkin is just that. you have to understand that these animals originally come from africa. they drink some of the worst water known to any living thing in the wild, they also dont live in the perfect temps. now i know things change when an animal is bred in captivity but they have not been bred in captivity long enough to change their physioligy. chlorine and other chemicals used in city water is their to clean the water and kill off harmful bacteria. humans are more inclined to get sick from the water then reptiles so if its safe enough to run through your tap your reptiles can drink it. alot of what you buy at pet stores for reptiles such as purifiers and supplements are gimicks and not needed. if its water purifiers look at the ingredients. its gonna be the same stuff that is used in city water to do the same thing. i have been breeding and keeping snakes for 20 years and i have always given water out of the tap. never had one animal have any issues. it is a good thing to keep their water clean. change it often but you dont have to over think it
