I keep my normals the same way I keep all of my other animals--in individual bins, with full feeding records, and lineage information. People appreciate this, and I have no problems selling them as pets.
They go individually to locals, and sometimes to pet owners further away (yes, people will sometimes pay the shipping cost). I've also sold small groups to local pet stores, and to people who want animals to resale at expos. I sell some at the local expo myself.
Around Christmas, I get lots of inquiries for normals, and sometimes I've sold out of them by then.
Morph gene pools would get constricted pretty quickly if folks didn't outcross to normals. If you have a rather muddy looking morph to breed, pairing it with the RIGHT normal can produce superior offspring and improve the line.
It's 100% true that the market can bear the hatchlings we produce--and all of the CH babies from Africa as well!
You do see people trying to rehome ball pythons often, but this is just a testament to their popularity. Everyone has them, so a lot of people are trying to trade them. There are homes for them all out there, though, and I don't ever recall seeing one sit in a shelter for a significant period of time, nor anyone charging a fair price actually have issues in selling one.
I also use Hoobly, Kijiji, and Oodle, and I get a lot of inquiries through there, as well as other local classifieds. I do not use Craigslist, because I sell animals, I'm not adopting them out.
