Browning out, when talking about Pastels and Pastel combinations, means they often start out bright yellow, but as they age the yellow fades and turns one shade or another of brown.

Some Pastels get really brown, others stay pretty yellow. In general, the higher the yellow the more desirable the Pastel or combo. Pastel's that hold their yellow into maturity are much more likely to command a higher price tag. Unfortunately, it is difficult to tell from the yellow on a hatchling just how yellow it will stay as it matures. I do know that Pastel hatchlings that appear mostly orange tend to brown out the most.

So, when we say you have a browned out Pastel, that simply means where the snake was yellow as a baby is now the typical adult brown. Yours is considered a nice Pastel because even though it's browned out, he still has good basic body color and some blushing on his back.

yea "browned out" is just something that happens to alot of ball python morphs as they get older. basically the color becomes less bright and colorful as when they were babies. When pastels are babies they are usually a beutiful yellow. but as they get older that yellow starts to turn into a yellowish brown. still nice snake u got there
