Nah, it's just to warm one side of the tank, for when I turn on the AC

I have a Zoo Med UTH and it is hooked up to a reostat. With the reostat set on low I have been getting a 96-98 degrees reading on my temp prob witch is stuck to the glass on the inside bottom of the cage.

I just got my Pastel BP yesterday and she spends most of her time under her hide over the UTH. I also use a flukers heat lamp with a 50watt IR bulb to keep the air temp in the cage at 79-81 degrees.

I do not have a thermostat (yet)
Do you think my temps with the UTH are getting to hot?

She comes out the explore her new cage at night and likes to climb on the plants. seems to be so far so good. Any thoughts?

If you really glop the probe down (it must not move) the probe is a touch slower to respond and reads a touch low. My herpstat pro probes that are hot glued down are open on the bottom and glued over the top. they are about a degree low the herpstat power adjustment automatically took care of the slower response by using a lower power curve I didn't need to mess with it. I don't know what other units would be like that way.
