I keep all my breeder girls in CB-70's. To be honest, I don't think I could imagine trying to breed them in such a small tub? But if it works, it works!

shelf height and width are the same between 28 and 41s So if you are going to build another rack you can use your dimensions BUT its just a deeper rack.
I am moving my girls up to 41s when they hit 12 to 1500g:gj:

Ive had some female lay in a 32, IMO I wouldn't consider anything less. Got most of my larger ladies in 41qt tubs.

Re: What are your thoughts on breeding in 28 quart?
Tried the 28qt, the wife just wouldn't fit.
The 41qt was still tight, but was doable.:D

In seriuosness though, I use 41qt's for all my adult snakes, BPs, and colubrids.

Just my personal experience but my very first clutch ever was conceived and laid in a 28qt tub. So yes it does work (sometimes) but I also very quickly after moved all my breeder females into 41qt tubs. I just think for comfort reasons for the snake that is better. I have also noticed a much better response out of all my females now that they are in the bigger tubs. Even for snakes, that love tight fitting hides, a 28qt tub for an adult female ball python is a little snug I find. : )

i am planning on breeding in a boaphileplastics ball room rhino rack it is a 41 qt tub i was going to get freedom breeders large frame rack but they are way too expensive for a hobby. i dont like the idea of my snakes being in a small aquarium, tub etc...

I have had females breed in a 32, not much of a difference from 28.
I think it depends on the girl. All my breeder girls are usually in CB-70's but I have moved some picky feeders back to 32's to improve feeding response. We are also talking about a 1500 gram snake.

Now a 2500 gram snake would be a different story.

Once again depends on the snake.:snake:
