Let him settle for a couple of days and then offer a meal. That may calm him down. Continue to use the hook, even though he is small. He will eventually learn that tantrums won't work.

awww. i love it when baby's try to act tough. it's so cute. i bet he grows out of it, most do. of course i did have an 8' female that still acted like that years ago, at that size they will keep you on your toes.

Mine isn't mean, mine just gets over excited about food! When we are warming up rats and she can smell it she strikes at anything that comes close to her cage :O Or just..the cage itself. I think she thinks she can eat her way out :P

I have taken him out 4 times now for just a couple minutes...I dont use the hook but I do wear a light glove, just so he gets used to a giant hand grabbing him and not hurting him. Last 3 times he hasnt hissed, or even flinched, he keeps a close eye on me though, I think the glove blocks the heat and he has no idea where to try and bite me, lol.
But he does seem to be calming down quickly, I am going to feed him tomorrow, so hopefully in a couple days I can post a photo of me holding him ungloved. I wouldnt bother with the glove except he dont just bite...he bites, and bites, and bites, and bites, really fast over and over, and I dont want any part of that, hahaha.

Thanks for all the comments, I just love this little fella!
