Is it difficult to set up the under tank heating device? I'm not very handy.

Nope you stick them under the tank and plug them into a thermostat. You do need one of those no matter what heat your using. Persobally i use Belly heat intead of top heat. And when I used the uths I kept them unstuck to the tank so I could reuse them without breakig them. So just get one and place it under the tank and hook it up to the tstat.

I am wondering if I should get a fogger or if I should switch to the under heating element and buy super expensive temp/humidity gauge that you put in the substrate. Any options/suggestions and brands and models would be very helpful.

So I just purchased 30-40 gal size rept therm UTH and zilla 1000 watt temp control. Still need better temperature monitoring, may hit up walmart later like someone suggested.
