    Not to purposely offend anybody, but I think jalapenos have no real flavor, just heat. There are so many quality peppers out there, such as Serrano, and Thai peppers. If you do not like it to be hot, but flavorful, cubanelle and poblano peppers are great!

    I have never been a fan of jalapenos either, especially when they are pickled. I love cooking with ripe banana peppers or hot wax peppers. No real heat there, but I love sweet peppers. If I want heat and flavor, habaneros are my weapon of choice. I love that subtle apple-ish flavor of a ripe habanero. Drop a couple in a pot o' chili and you're sure to burn the nose hairs off anyone brave enough to indulge.
