I've always felt for any creature, human or otherwise, it should not be about quantity of life but quality of life.
It sounds like you are willing to go the extra mile to give her the best quality of life for the time she has left, and I applaud you for it. I believe with all my heart she knows you want what is best for her, and that she appreciates these precious times you have together.
