LAS VEGAS -- This is the UFC 132 live blog for Melvin Guillard vs. Shane Roller, a lightweight bout on tonight's Spike TV portion of the card at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Guillard (27-8-2) has won his last four fights, beating Ronnys Torres, Waylon Lowe, Jeremy Stephens and Evan Dunham. Roller won his UFC debut in March by knocking out Thiago Tavares at UFC on Versus 3.

Round 1: Guillard starts us off by feinting Roller back up against the fence and then snapping a jumping kick to his face. So much for a feeling-out period. Guillard nails Roller with a nice knee to the body as he comes charging in. Roller seems to think he was poked in the eye somewhere in there. Referee Josh Rosenthal pauses the action and warns Guillard, who seems apologetic. They go right back to work after the restart, and Roller lands a stiff punch to give Guillard something to think about. Roller steps forward with a combo and Guillard drops him with an uppercut. Roller gathers his wits as Guillard rains downs hammerfists, and he gets to his feet just in time to eat a knee and a hard left that puts him back down. Guillard pounds him with several brutal hammerfists, and Roller is out. Rosenthal jumps in to stop it. Impressive, one-sided win for Guillard.

Melvin Guillard def. Shane Roller via KO (punches) at 2:12 of round one.

LAS VEGAS -- This is the UFC 132 live blog for George Sotiropoulos vs. Rafael dos Anjos, a lightweight bout on tonight's Spike TV portion of the card at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Sotiropoulos (14-3) had a seven-fight UFC win streak snapped in February in a loss to Dennis Siver at UFC 127. Dos Anjos (14-5) lost last August to Clay Guida at UFC 117.

Round 1: Dos Anjos is bouncing all over the place to start the fight, with Sotiropoulos calmly following him. They both whiff on leg kicks, and dos Anjos continues circling. Dos Anjos dives in with a combo, then backs up just far enough to blast Sotiropoulos with a big right hook. Sotiropoulos goes down in a heap. Dos Anjos goes to jump on him, but Yves Lavigne gets there first and protects Sotiropoulos from taking any unnecessary damage. A victorious dos Anjos parades around the cage, elated.

Rafael dos Anjos def. George Sotiropoulos via KO (punch) at 0:59 of round 1

I and everyone else at my boys house was thinking the same thing - lol. I still do not think he is going to be able to effectively compete with any of the top dogs in that weight class but I guess we will see and good for him on this win :salute:
