Flexwatt is a carbon heating strip essentially the same as a commercial UTH only not enclosed in material, just bare bones. If I was setting up just a single snake habitat I am not sure I'd mess with it, yes it is a bit cheaper but to be honest I'd buy what you need the first time buy quality and not need to re buy things later. Flexwatt works great but you are not setting up a 10 slot rack just a single enclosure. You don't need it really. The wiring it and connections make it a pain. In my case my insurance company refused to cover me at all unless it was inspected by an electrician and certified, $250 later. It makes sense for large instillations not for a single one.

Time for new insurance company. My insurance coveres ALL my equipment 100% no questions asked. To get the snakes covered its $200 more a month.

Flexwatt is easy to wire if you go that route and lasts longer than manufactured Heating pads for tanks.

It is federal law here in Canada that at sites of business you MUST have an any and all 110 volt or greater installed by an electrician, luckily I am quite handy and can just have him look things over. Every insurance company is the same and if something happens you can do jail time. I own my own business so I have no choice. OP how much are you needing?
