I have 2 that are pigs on frozen thawed. I have one who thinks that f/t is of teh devil.

Most snakes will go to f/t if you are persistant. There are a lot of tricks and they don't work well with all snakes.

If I have a snake that is picky, I'll feed it live fairly close together--every 4 days for a couple of weeks or so, then not feed for 10 days and offer it f/t. Maybe the poor thing thinks it's starving, but whatever it is it usually works. I've tricked Miss Picky into eating f/t a couple of times already. I figure that she'll be won over eventually.

Hate to challenge you, but I've read quite a bit that says contrary...granted, I can't give evidence...but I was wondering if you could...? And I'm not talking about 'snakes', but more specifically, BP's.

    thanks. :)

I’ve read field reports about snakes scavenging on dead prey. cotton mouths have been witnessed doing it on dead fish, and remember 1 report of a eastern diamond back that was killed that had a badly decomposed rabbit in its stomach. as a note about I have noticed personally that hot snakes, even pit vipers as a hole are much easier to switch to F/T prey. it is my belief that this is because for most of them they strike and release their prey and then track it down. so when they encounter the prey item to begin feeding it is already dead.
