Does he mostly bite when you pick him up?

One of mine was really bad about that. I started to use a cage hook to pick her up and she quit striking and was OK to handle. I can pick her up barehanded now without a strike. She still gets hissy once in a while, but that I can live with.

Funny thing is, mostly she hisses when she's put down. It's hilarious--it's like she's doing "so there!" and a snake flounce.

Thanks for the replies ! What would be a regular schedule that i should follow. (Approx time holding per day). Also, he seems to be a lot more lively in the night time. Should i hold him late ? I dont know the exact size of my cage, But they told me it was good if the snake fit horizontally in it. He has A hidey that touches all sides, And somewhere that he is covered by leaves. He has also found many other spots, Including under his water dish.

Again, 7-14 days of solitude--only cleaning and providing fresh water, NO TOUCHING. Give him at least a week of privacy and start the handling regime after that short period of time (it may seem like forever, but your snake will "appreciate it").

    +1

I think handling him so soon so often is probably what's stressing him out so much. The only time he should be lively is at night, they are nocturnal, if he is lively during the day that means he's stressed (with the exception of a few oddballs). What kind of "cage" is he is?? Do you mean tank or something? What are your temps like?? What do you use for a heat source? How do you measure temps??
