Is she gravid or ovulating?

Why not just palpate her? You should easily be able to tell the follicles from eggs.

I've tried that before (both last year & this time), but I can't really tell what's what... any tips on that? :oops:

Hey kid!

No worries on palpating
I can't do it.
But with the swelling that close to her booty id say she's prego.
That's what my lady did and I noticed her tail right by her cloaca was really a lot thicker than normal and 3 days later she popped out 7 eggs.

This is my first clutch so take me words as a first timers opinions
But just saying. That's how I knew she was prego in my heart

You know what I just realized? I was looking at her old iHerp records, and last year she shed on 5/11 and laid on 6/22... so that's about 44 days, which is considerably longer than usual. Her eggs were big and healthy, with the exception of one infertile, and the babies ranged from 55-72g at hatching. So maybe she's just a long "cooker" with big babies? ;)

Jury is still out on whether she's gravid, ovulating(ed), or none of the above - guess I'll know soon enough, LOL.
