Re: I might get my first snake, a Blood Python... but...
I just jumped to the conclusion that someone who has never had a snake probably doesn't have their own snake room or a rack, but that would be awesome if they did!

My first Blood was a rescue and he had a bad RI and was regurgitating his meals, I got him for 30 bucks though, and I had to pay a bunch to an exotic vet for his Baytril injections and get a fecal examination done on him. He almost didn't make it, but one day he started keeping his meals down and started gaining weight like crazy, then his RI cleared up completely, but it lingered for a long time before it went away. I have heard a bunch of horror stories about RI's and Bloods and how it is a major pain, and this seems to be true in my case, I am really lucky he pulled through, as he is now my favorite snake!

I agree with Tim Mead, I would do a 60-90 day return policy if notice any problems. But at that price you could get one from a breeder with no worries. I rescued my first blood for $100, luckily she didn't have an infection. I think it's great that you want to rescue him, but if it were me I wouldn't spend $200 on a snake in such bad shape, especially without a 60-90 return policy.

How ever if you do plan on getting, good luck and we will be here to help you, answering any questions. :D
