My lovely 05 female jag is 10 feet long now and somewhere between a baseball and a softball in width.
but i really wanted to chime in and say that i really feel a 3ft cage with less than 18in height is too small for an adult, except maybe a small male.
also, mine don't even use their hides unless they're gravid or in ecdysis, but they really utilize the full length of cage for the temp gradient, thus i don't believe small cages are suffificient.

Are they that much secretive as ball or they more curious and active Animals ??
I know that different sub species vary in size... Which one is a smallest one... ??
And if I will consider one...
Will 40gallon breeder tank 36long x 18 wide x 16 tall be sufficient or I'll need bigger cage in future ??
Thanks In Advance.
They make good display animals but that also depends on what you consider a good display animal. Carpets won't neccisarily hide as much as other snakes might and can be more active, but even active sankes you need to remember still aren't always moving around a lot. If you want something that will be out for you to see they will do that, but if you are expecting them to be moving around a lot, you will get some activity but not a ton of it.
They are extremly more active and visable then a bp though.
IJ's are usually the smallest carpet but Jungles aren't that large of a snake either.I have seen some adult IJ's that seem huge compared to adult jungles because they tend to be thicker even though they are shorter.
Some care sheets will say that a 40 breeder tank will be good for an adult Jungle or IJ but it isn't. A 4 foot tank would be good but I even had to move my coastal to a 5 foot because there jsut wasn't enough room in the 4 footer for her.
THey can make a really good snake, but remeber they can be quite nippy at first so make sure that is something you will be able to deal with.

To answer your questions, they are VERY different from a Ball Python! Mine is quite curious, almost always hanging out on his branches, and immediately pops out to say "hi" when I open his tub. Apparently some of them can be nippy as babies, but luckily mine never went through that phase... he's always been very mellow, and has only bitten me once (totally my fault / stupid feeding error). Also unlike the BPs, he is an excellent feeder, never refusing a frozen mouse even while in blue. And he just loves to KILL those dead mice, taking his strike & coil very seriously - LOL. :D
In terms of size, the Iryan and Jungle Carpets stay manageable, and boys tend to be smaller. I have a male Jungle, and expect he won't get bigger than 6-6.5 feet. Right now he's only about 18 months old, and still small but growing fast... he lives in a 28qt Sterilite tub, with 2 branches (they love to perch), a homemade hide, and a ceramic water dish. Simple setup, but he seems perfectly content in there. They really are great snakes, so I would highly recommend getting one!
I just shared photos on another thread, but here's my boy, Kipling:

You can see part of his tub here... the branches are usually propped against the hide, but he knocked them over earlier.
