were they feeding him live mice? if he always had f/t before he might not know what to do with a live one.

From what she informed me was he was on live feed. Her brother was taking care of him up until a few months ago. bedding was never cleaned, never handled, and stopped eating. Said hasnt ate in 2-3 months.

Hmmm, that's not good. I would wait another few days and try again, then maybe try f/t. Usually kings will eat anything in sight, and he should definitely be hungry after 2-3 months. Hopefully he's not sick.

Well we have success ! Our King has finally ate! Third time was a charm. I have had a few attempts on live mice, so most recent i got a F/T and gave it a shot and he ate like a champ! In addition he shed Friday. Wasnt the best shed but came off well.

Try F/T, they are also lizard eaters so if he doesn't take the F/T try scenting it with a lizard. Oops, didn't see the rest of this. Glad it's eating. Pics please.

Try to keep the temps no higher than 85. Colubrids dont do all that well with high temps and can cause regurges when its that high.

If you can keep the room at 82-83 than you wouldnt need any heat source on the tank other than room temp.

Current temps are ranging around 82 in his enclosure, i was keeping pretty close eye on him for the first week.

Hes been doing great! Hes had steady meals, regular cleaned enclosure, steady temps. Quite the happy lil guy. I was originally planning on rehoming him once he got back to good health but my 8 year old wont let me lol.
