Hopefully the wait won't be too bad. I'm hoping for a spider female out of this clutch. Now if only my other females would get with the program! I have not witnessed any locks from one pair (but they were only paired up a month or so ago). I have them on a 3 on 3 off schedule. The other female is pairing with two males and locks every single time I put a male in with her. I only just now felt follicles in her so I've got my fingers crossed things start moving forward with her. And I'm also breeding my sister's female for her. She's locked once.

At least I've got my hands full with these 3 while I wait on these eggs. :D

Just a quick question about the incubator. We moved it downstairs the other day since the downstairs of the house stays at a pretty constant temperature in comparison the huge temp swings upstairs. Upstairs it can easily swing from 75 to over 90 in a single day. Downstairs it stays around 72-74.

Since I moved the incubator and I just got eggs this morning (which was a surprise. I didn't expect eggs today) I decided to watch the temp of the incubator to see how much it is fluctuating. Over the past hour (though it has been on longer) it is staying between 87.6 - 88.2. Is this too much of a swing of am I okay to put the eggs in?

Oh and I checked the eggs. All are fertile and are in the bator! June can't get here soon enough!

If you don't hear from me after about a month, then you'll know I died waiting too. :D

I should have grabbed a picture of the eggs before I put them in the incubator, but I don't want to disturb them anymore than they already have been. But all have good strong veins. Unlike my first season I am going to leave these eggs alone! I will only go in once a week to circulate air and to check on their progress.

I have only had one clutch of ball python eggs before this and it was a disaster. Only 2 out of 6 eggs made it (5/6 eggs were fertile) to full term and even then one died at hatching (he was severely kinked and his umbilicus was tied around his middle) and the other died a few months after hatching. He couldn't eat. So I've never had a successful ball python clutch before so I'm hoping this will be my first of many to come.

    Hi,

    Congrats on the eggies. :D

And that temp swing doesn't sound too bad at all. :gj:

Hurry up and post the video though. :P

The only way I know of and have posted a video is uploading it to YouTube and then putting the link in your post on here.
