I like your tubs! I have a very similar setup only I have found that the rats are less likely to chew on the tub when they have stuff to do. I put a rodent wheel in with them and zero chewing on the tub. One of the biggest issues I have with rodent racks is that none are tall enough for a wheel. Seems like the least I can do for the little buggers.

I love the mesh coloumn idea!
    Very creative!

I actually stole the mesh column idea from a post I saw of a similar setup in the ASF forum here on bp.net :)

Yeah, thats kind of the consensus I've gathered from talking to other breeders. Give them things to preoccupy their time, and they leave the tub alone. I gave mine a bunch of little wooden blocks and such to play with and chew on and they so far seem to be sticking to those and leaving the tub alone.

I like those set-ups. I am drilling all my 20L tanks about 1 1/2 inches up from the bottom for air flow. Glass is a pain to drill, 15 min per 1/4" hole:O:O doing 3 on each short side should be good now that I have the a/c out there.
Gonna have to figure a feed chute way out still.
