Re: Striking--will he probably grow out of it?
I've got a 2 year old female Lesser that thinks she's a Viper. She hisses LOUDLY and strikes out with all her might. She is a handful. I was cleaning cages today and I opened the enclosure and she came out and struck from the back of the enclosure to the front. This from a 32 Qt Sterilite in a rack. She strikes by launching her entire body. It's actually a really hard strike. This is also with an open mouth. She's never grabbed on and coiled, but she has gotten me pretty good in the past.
So, the answer to your question is no, not all of them outgrow it.
Sorry,

Re: Striking--will he probably grow out of it?
I just got my baby ball 2 weeks ago and she was fine till a few nites ago when I had her out. My dog who is a year old boxer was very curious and was trying to jump up and see her and I was trying to move her around so he wouldnt get her and I think it was too much movement and she struck at the side of my face. It scared the crap out of me so I put her right away but I did take her out again the next nite and she was fine. I am a bit jumpy around her now everytime she moves but again I think it was my fault and she was just scared. She is now 7 weeks old and eats great! I am hoping it won't happen again and that she will outgrow it. So glad I found this site.
