Well the spider het pied would be in addition to my het females.
Just wasnt sure if it was a smart investment of expensive $1100 or not. I could just buy a pied female for that price and produce 100% pieds, if i was going to spend that much on one snake.
Like I said I couldnt find any info on how much Spieds are selling for.
I think Ill just stick with getting my het females for now and work on my pied babies, I probably wont be breeding until spring '13 the way Im buying these young babies. But it is super exciting to be able to watch them grow and know that these snakes make up my future breeders.
Thanks for all your guys' inputs! Greatly Appreciated!

I love the look of the Spied as I love the high whites. I'm also looking forward to producing an all-white Spied.

The only thing that steers me away from Spiders is the head wobble but other than that they make some fantastic combos.

I'd say it boils down to personal preference, how you feel about the look of the Spied. I love the look of the them and can't wait to try to make some myself. http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...pider-het-Pied
The pairing can lead to Spieds, Pieds, Spiders het for Pied and normals het for Pied. I personally believe that is a strong pairing buisness wise.
To give you an idea of what Spied prices are right now you can check out Steve Roussis's websitehttp://www.roussisreptiles.com/available.html Just remember these prices will likely decrease by time you'd possibly see a Spied head peaking out of an egg.

Another thing I feel is important is you've got to really trust the person selling the Spider as het for Pied. There is no way of telling if it's really is het unless you spend years raising her and then breeding her to prove her out. Which can be a big waste of time and money if she proves not to be really het.

$6k for a spied ball is pretty good. I would be looking at probably the 2013 year when im to be breeding (2012 if im lucky) and I cant imagine spieds would dip SO low, but if i could get at least $1k for a baby that would make me happy, not to mention all the money coming from the hets. I just love the outcome of having 4 different possiblities in babies, and all of them being hets for pied or pied themselves.
I think i could trust the person, he has one of those high end websites and seems like hes a part of the herp community, he has pics of the baby spider het for pied with the other siblings as hatchlings and current photos.
Belive me thats the one thing i hear the most is being scammed by someone lying about a het...I dont want it to happen.
