I offer but so far no takers. You pull a cute little wiener from the tub and they go oh how cute. But I always start with one of the jumbo males You know the ones the size of a small cat!!!...:D Just kidding.

Um...how bout no? The rats are soley for snakey purposes...they will not be sautéed along with the ground beef for tacos tonight.

So true!! My female normal is really sweet too, even when she was a hatchling she was super laid back and friendly. I hope that when I get my first morph (I'm planning on it being an albino) that he'll be just as nice.

And yeah, it's amazing how strongly some people dislike snakes. It's just so deeply ingrained. Most people just kind of give me sidelong glances like I'm some sort of crazy person, but I've had several people who wouldn't talk to me or come over to my house after they found out I own them (even when I explained how small and tame they were). And then there's always the people that when I tell them I own snakes, they ask "oh, so do have any of those water moccasins?" or think I must mean gigantic, vicious anacondas or something  Most people have no idea that snakes can be just as nice as any other pet.

I have to admit that before I got my first snake, I was probably very similar. I wasn't afraid of them or anything, but I just didn't understand why anyone would want to own one. So I guess it's all from experiencing firsthand what amazing creatures they are that helps people get over their initial kneejerk negative reaction.

Oh, and I loved your comment about storing and thawing the frozen rodents. The rest of my family always freaks out when they walk into the bathroom and see several dead mice floating in a container of water :D

    5. When people realize that your ball python collection cost more than their car. People trip out when they hear the cost of some of these snakes. They never believe me until I show them KS or some of the major breeders websites.

I have a few friends that are refusing to come to my house even after I've explained that I am NOT taking the snakes out unless everyone that's over is fine with it.
It's actually kind of frustrating. I'm terrified of spiders and I've held a tarantula. O-o

    Number 6:

The fastest way to end a conversation with people you don't like is to look at the clock/your watch and announce that this is your pet's favorite time of day and you need to get home to play with them. Then you wait for the inevitable question of " What do you have ?" Then smile hugely and say, " Snakes. "

    Number 7:
The fastest way to clear a room is to announce," Nobody move, I had one of my snakes in it's travel pouch and I just noticed it's not in there any more. "

Hahahaha exactly! When I was doing my internship a couple summers ago and giving presentations with the big RTB, a lot of people would ask how fast it could move if I put it down. One of the guys I worked with used to joke around and say "Well, it really can't move that fast, but I bet if we did put it down right now we would find out how fast a lot of people here could move!!" :D

Not that we ever did it of course, but it's true!

I actually had a guy tell me he wouldn't have let me give him a ride to the car shop where his car was being worked on if he realised that I kept snakes.... not that there were any snakes in the car!

Lol, that's awesome. People do tend to panic a little too much around snakes. :P
